The Apostle General of Royalhouse Chapel International, Sam Korankye Ankrah, has extended his sympathies to victims of the devastating June 29 floods while calling on Ghanaians to take personal responsibility for the environmental habits that contributed to the disaster.

Speaking on Sunday, July 12, 2026, the clergyman acknowledged the widespread destruction caused by the 170mm+ downpour that flooded homes and businesses across Accra, expressing particular concern for members and followers of his church who were affected.

"We deeply empathize with everyone whose home was flooded and who lost precious property in this disaster. To our church family and every affected citizen, we are truly sorry for what you have lost. We are lifting you up in prayer, trusting God for a speedy recovery and total restoration," he said.

Korankye Ankrah did not limit his remarks to comfort and prayer, however. He took the opportunity to address what he described as the root cause of the severity of the flooding, the culture of indiscriminate littering and plastic waste disposal that routinely blocks the city's drainage systems.

He declared that the church stands firmly behind relevant authorities in taking strong and decisive measures to address the problem, including the clearing of structures that block waterways.

He also pledged that Royalhouse Chapel would continue to sensitise its members on discipline, civic responsibility and moral uprightness, while praying for total restoration for all those affected.

"Because this crisis has touched almost everyone in our city, let us look out for one another and find strength in our shared faith," he said.
