Political commentator Frank Kwaku Appiah, popularly known as Appiah Stadium, has praised the Minister of Energy, Dr John Abdulai Jinapor, for what he describes as his swift and decisive action in addressing Ghana’s recent power challenges.

In a trending video shared by 1957 News on X, Appiah Stadium, a known supporter of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), suggested that the minister’s performance has not only improved the power situation but also weakened opposition criticism over “dumsor.”

“Everybody fears the Energy Minister, even dumsor. He silenced residents of Kumasi by fixing the power outages, effectively killing the NPP’s campaign message. Abu Jinapor used just two days to resolve the blackout,” he stated.

“He has also addressed the challenges at Akosombo, and yet some suggest President Mahama lacks the wisdom to appoint a capable Energy Minister. That is simply not true. When President Mahama leaves office, the next leader will be another John,” Appiah Stadium added.

His comments come after the Energy Ministry announced the full restoration of power generation units at the Akosombo Dam, following a fire outbreak at a GRIDCo substation that disrupted power supply in parts of the country in late April 2026.

The minister and his team worked with engineers from the Volta River Authority (VRA) and GRIDCo to restore the affected units, with Dr Jinapor declaring “Mission accomplished” after all generation units were brought back online.
