The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) regional office in the Ashanti Region will begin extended operating hours from Monday, May 4, 2026.

The office will run two daily shifts: 6 AM to 2 PM, and 2 PM to 10 PM.

Authorities say there are plans to expand to a 24-hour service depending on patronage.

The announcement was made during a clean-up exercise at the DVLA regional office as part of May Day activities, where the Regional Manager, Jerry Edem Aflabo, outlined the new arrangement.

Aflabo said the extended service would be implemented across all 16 regional capital offices of the DVLA.

He noted that security and lighting systems have been improved to support night operations and ensure the safety of staff and clients.

He also stated that only electronic payments will be accepted from 5 PM onwards as part of measures to enhance transaction security.

The DVLA has encouraged the public to make use of the extended service hours.
