2020 NSMQ winner receives full scholarship
In a recent post on his LinkedIn page, he stated, "I’m grateful to share that I received the Annual Michigan State University Honours College Giving Back Award.”
Nketsiah’s award is closely tied to his work on a project he initiated that focuses on improving early detection and support for triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC), an aggressive subtype that disproportionately affects women.
His project, “She’s Strong,” focused on Digital AI to improve triple-negative breast cancer detection.
He developed an early risk assessment platform and a digital patient care navigator to help individuals track symptoms, understand risk, and connect with care.
According to him, effective healthcare must “reach the right people, at the right time, with the right information.”
He expressed gratitude to Provost Laura Lee McIntyre and Trustee Rebecca Bahar-Cook for their support and presence at the award ceremony.
Benjamin Nketsiah was part of the PRESEC-Legon team that won the 2020 National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ), securing the school’s first title since 2009.
