Head coach of the Black Stars, Carlos Queiroz, has said that he cannot set a specific target for how the team will perform at the 2026 FIFA World Cup but assured that he will do his best.

He explained that his focus is on selecting the best players to represent the nation and mapping out strategies that will enable the team to excel.

The Portuguese coach noted that talking about targets at this stage is unnecessary, but promised to deliver results that will impress Ghanaians.

“It’s not time to talk too much, it’s time to deliver. The only thing I can guarantee is hard work. The players will do everything to win. I want that after every game, the players walk off the pitch with their heads held high and ensure everyone is proud of them.

“That is what I can promise you. I can’t give promises about results because football is not about promises. What I can say is that we’re going to play to win from day one,” he said during his official unveiling by the GFA at the Alisa Hotel on April 23, 2026.

Carlos Queiroz has officially begun his tenure as Black Stars coach and will be working with his technical team in preparation for the 2026 World Cup.
