To the Veep, during her school going age, did the government then supply her with sanitary pads, and how did she get through?

Madam, don’t bring these Chinese to fleece the Ghanaian taxpayers to create jobs in China. The whole policy looks awkward and funny. You ask parents to buy textbooks and other essential school items for their children and then turn round to assume or claim that they are financially incapable of providing their children with sanitary pads. Sanitary pad and textbook, which of them is more expensive? Why don’t you also provide other toiletry/sanitary items freely? If parents are made to compulsory buy disinfectants/detergents and other sanitary/cleaning items, which are more expensive, why can’t they buy sanitary pads? Why is the government not providing these items? Students, in most schools, have been cleaning their bathhouses all these years by themselves, then all of a sudden, the Deputy Minister for Education announces that government is going to compound its financial burden by employing sanitation/conservancy workers for that job in the schools, while needed critical/direct workers (teachers) are at home jobless and wasting away. Madam, you people should learn how and when to put your priorities right. Think Ghana first.

Madam, I’m here again, since parents have now been quietly forced, though without official admittance/announcement, to now provide for some essential items, which hitherto were free under the Free SHS, meaning parents can afford to buy sanitary pads, I would rather prefer that the earmarked/budgeted GH¢292.4million for the sanitary pads is vired and used in upgrading science laboratories in deprived schools or in providing/building more/additional STEM facilities or schools.

This so-called "initiative" is complete nonsense. It is never, and has never been, a priority in Ghana.
