How can you so conveniently overlook your own ECG staff who are directly involved in the sale and installation of both fake and genuine meters? I just can't see the link. Staff of ECG are directly involved in this illegality and every Tom, Dick and Harry knows this except the ECG acting Managing Director.

Ministry appointed contractors then go ahead to install these meters for without ensuring full cooperation of ECG fir these are captiresd in its database. The result: lots of customers without bils for months and years

Fmr Madina NDC MP Amadu Sorogho was a culprit, "his" meters are all over in Danfa,Ayimensah,Amrahia,Oyarifa etc.He facilitated for house owners to get these meters bcoz of votes. Sadly he's no more an MP but these debts are hanging.Many are prepared to go and rectify the situation with ECG but bcoz of the huge debt hanging around their necks.

Our country is terribly sick. Can someone tell me one area in Ghana that there is no corruption? Why don’t we learn from the Developed Countries where the Meter is computerized and one cannot easily connect without a code and authentication? If one illegally connects, it will be shortly found out and the culprit will be in Prison doing many years in Prison with Hard Labor. Even if one makes an illegal connection from one house to another, some people will be on their way to the Prison. Do same in Ghana and give culprit lengthy Prison terms and that nonsense will stop. Just get three such Electricity Thieves and their cohorts just three years for any illegal connection and see if such thievery will not stop. Ah, Uncle Sam will treat this as a Felony because it is against the state and one can go to Prison for more than Five Years for any such illegal connections. Ghanaians are just corrupt from the Crown to the Toe.

Our country is in deep crisis and authorities shd innovate to find solutions to our problems.

Can’t you make the meters free and deduct the cost as the customer buys credit. Since I came of age let’s say from 2001, ECG has never improved. Always there are no meters, no meters no meters whyyyyyyy. They are sold to highest bidder. You will have faulty meter and you’ll be asked to pay for replacement perhaps 1600 or 2000 and be told you’ll hear from them. That’s alll . Who will sleep and darkness after he’s paid for replacement meter? Are the meters soooo hard to produce or procure. I don’t get. I’m so sick and tired of this ECG brouhaha. You can’t just walk there gently and get things done as they ought to be . It has to be connection, whom you know. Mtchewwww. Make the meters available . Wake up , wake up. Remove some impediments from obtaining the meters which also fuel the corruption. Many squatters use the lights free of charge and some are ready to pay so just provide them meters.
