  It is getting really sad to be practicing law in Ghana. It is not only sad because of the attempt by the majority lawyers with NPP membership hell bent on elevating the normalization of unprincipled practices but the shameless bravado with which precedence, consistency and moral principles have become victims in the practice of law in Ghana.
  
  Ms. Getrude Araba Esaaba Sackey Torkornoo was removed from office of the crime of "moral" turpitude. It is the judiciary branch of government that is obligated, morally, by practice reference and by dictates of societal moral values. Remove the foundation of morality from the judiciary and there would be no need for Ghana to have a judiciary branch of government.
  
  If Ms. Torkornoo has already been found wanting morally then what would she be judging those who come any court she sits as an officer of the said court? Whether she serves as a solitary judge or as member of a panel/serving as jurors, her appearance or inclusion would render any ruling a denial of justice of the accused. If we cannot trust murderers, criminals or anyone with a criminal record to sit in judgment of other accused criminals then we could not have a justice removed on the grounds of moral turpitude to sit in judgment of anyone on any court.

  Whereas a committee is appointed to investigate the conduct of an employee, the chief executive of that institution cannot use his powers to vary the recommendation of such committee.
  The committee appointed by the President John Dramani Mahama recommended that the Chief Justice Gertrude Araba Sackey Torkornoo be removed as the Chief Justice of Ghana and the president as acted accordingly.
  The president has not varied any part of the recommendation, thus he acted in accordance with Article 146 of the 1992 Constitution.
