When the cedi was around GHs 10 years ago, prices of goods were cheaper. So forcing the cedi to go back to 10 and below while the prices of goods and services (especially electricity) are skyrocketing is just a recipe for disaster in the long term. Learn how to thing ahead and stop fooling.

There’s nothing positive about wasting reserves the artificially manipulate your currency instead of building it for the long term like how the previous government was doing.

Foolish research. The cedi will remain around 10. There is no such thing as convergence with forex/black market rate. There is the BOG rate for people with correct imports and documents and duty payments paying officially through the banks and then there is the forex and black market rate for people chasing dollars outside the banking system to cover their illegal imports and non declared sales. There will always be a higher rate for black market dollars since those buyers have evaded all taxes so part of the tax savings is used to pay the extra cost. Book long researchers will never understand the workings in the system. Genuine businesses should be supported with BOG fx at 10 and the rest can even pay ghc20 to the $ if they want to evaded taxes.
