They have all been impoverished because government has been spending far beyond its means (tax revenues) since 1992, for electoral votes and to fulfill unrealistic promises. You can not get rid of a problem with the same solution that caused the problem - promises that require more government spending. During his time the IMF had out an embargo on employment ankasa. And the private sector was overtake by Seth Tekper. They are simply parroting our complains which are the symptoms of every economy in crisis. What are they proposing to do differently bring down interest rates to 10%, bring down inflation to less than 10%, reduce government borrowing, pay Ghana's debts, and bring down the excahnge rate. Absolutely Nothing. These are the macroeconomic fundamentals. If they are not fixed the hardships which are symptoms will not go away. The deceit and loose talk is too much. It is time for each Presidential candidate and their fanatical political parties who wants our vote to tell us whether and how what their promising by heart will affect the macroeconomic fundamentals, positively or negatively and by how much so that they dont mislead us into far worse crisis and more taxes, especially with the kind of gargantuan uncosted promises that are being made to different interest groups and different venues. How much will construct a waterway into Kumasi cost. Is it cheaper than a super highway. How will it affect the economy?
