Our roads serve as the mostly used means of transportation yet our roads are in such a deplorable condition that they have become death traps . Our so-called highways cannot even take four vehicle running in the same direction. Heavy trucks can not ply our roads and small vehicles must make way for these trucks to pass by. Ghana has the Volta river which could be use for the transportation of people and goods but our useless government has not seen the Volta river as an efficient means of transportation. Why not invest in the Volta river to make it worthy for transportation.
Ghana has enormous resources in sunlight that could be harnessed to provide energy but our weak minds are still stuck with hydropower from the dams . The dumsor is a canker for industrialization and no development can happen Ghana can produce enough electricity for use .
Ghana can do better if it has visionary leaders.

Whilst there is an argument for increased use of waterways. This should focus on existing waterways such as the Volta river and lake. Although it would need some innovation to overcome the dam at Akosombo. Transfer maybe ?

But a waterway to Kumasi at what cost, how do you manage the elevation. Which source of water. What about displacement of people and land. It would not be feasible.

A railway and transport on the lake would be better.

This guy is making waves but he does not have credentials to be president. Would he neglect his business empire or use the presidencybit to make more money for himself

What is petty about calling out a plan that is outlandish? Has he laid how he plans to finance that project? Ghanaians were promised the Promised Land by Akufo-Addo and they failed to ask questions, and he ended up delivering Ghanaians a Wahala Land. Cheddar may be a visionary when it comes to business matters, but this proposal isn't a private undertaking. Ghanaians therefore need to hear more than just what a politician plans to do, but also how that plan will be funded.

Taking the sea to Kumasi via a bypass canal fm Akuse to Kpeve on the Volta lake opening up the northern extremities of Ghana to international shipping. this project would generate jobs. This makes more sense than all the empty promises of the other politicians. A port in Upper East would mean Ghana can serve Burkina Faso, Mali and the interior of Africa via international shipping. The Akosombo dam is the only reason ships cannot reach Kumasi and the North currently.
