MPs are elected on Party tickets and therefore it's very necessary for political parties have a say in the elections of leaders in Parliament. This is going to strengthen corruption. Another corrupt arrangement in the standing orders that should have, and must change, is the so called appointment committee. The idea of interrogating nominees once gives the president complete range to mess up. A person nominated to a specific position must ONLY be interrogated for such position. When, and if , the president decides to move such person to another job,it's only right the person returns to Parliament to tell the country what he/she has done warranting a new position. The various select committees must be responsible for interrogating nominees for their various ministries. This way we can check competence.
