Call it a ‘day session’ and ‘night session’ for ‘Kumasianos', whichever way, the 6th of March was one busy and eventful day for the people of the Ashanti Region.

The day was packed with patriotic activities including the rich display of culture from the Asanteman, and other regions, coupled with a showcase of skills by the military and paramilitary bodies.

Students from various selected schools also had their turns on the over 40,000-seater sports stadium. The President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and Asantehene Osei Tutu II, as well as the Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobargo, Keith Rowley were there to grace the occassion.

After several hours, the event came to a close and the crowd dispersed to their places of preferences.

Soon it was time to wind down, and the mall seemed like one of the most ideal places apparently, for the ‘hot-blooded’.

The ‘heat’ was high at the Kumasi mall where hundreds had thronged after the Independence Day event to relax and have some fun.

Whiles some decided to join somewhat of a formation dance, chanting songs of their own and dancing along, others chose to rock to jamming afro-beats songs that were playing in some parts of the mall.

The youth, ladies and gentlemen, were ‘killing it’. Tune after tune, the jams continued; and the dance ‘gurus’ were not a bit short of showcasing their dancing prowess to the world.

Ghana was 63 Friday, March 6, 2020, and as part of efforts to mark the event, the annual march pass was held in the Ashanti Regional capital, Kumasi.

The Baba Yara stadium where the program was hosted saw several persons thronging to be part of history-making as it was the first time the region was hosting the event.

The theme for this year's celebration is 'Consolidating our gains'.
