A reported manhunt is underway to locate a gang of thieves who raided a mobile phone shop at Akwatia in the Eastern Region.
According to CCTV footage published by Akwatia TV on YouTube, the incident occurred on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at the Akwadum Market.
“The victim is one of our brothers whose phone shop is located at the Akwadum Market inside the Jocas building. His name is Mingle. About a week ago, on October 1, the thieves broke into his shop at about 2 AM. They broke into the shop and stole his phones, including all the smartphones in the shop,” the report by Akwatia TV noted.

According to the report, the three thieves also made away with a huge sum of undisclosed money.
The video showed two of the thieves frantically breaking the locks on the gate of the shop before making their way inside.
According to the report by Akwatia TV, the third suspect, who is not seen in the video, was wielding a gun and keeping watch while the two carried out the operation.
Portions of the CCTV footage further showed one of the robbers packing the phones into a bag after gaining access into the shop.

Police officers reported to the scene at about 3:06 AM, according to the report, but did not meet the robbers there.
