Former Chief of Defence Staff Brigadier Joseph Nunoo-Mensah has prevailed on the Director General of the Police Criminal Investigations Department (CID), COP Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo Danquah to resign from her position.

He said the conduct of the CID boss throughout the investigation of the Takoradi girls’ kidnapping case was unprofessional.

Brigadier Nunoo-Mensah has therefore encouraged the government to crack the whip and sack her if she fails to do the right thing.

Speaking to Nuong Faalong on TV3’s Hot Issues on Saturday, he said the CID boss should have carefully put her thoughts together before addressing the public on issues regarding the kidnapping.

COP Tiwaa Addo Danquah, prior to the discovering of the skeletons of the girls, claimed the girls were alive and her team were making headway in rescuing them.

“There was a lack of professionalism, and before you open up your mouth and say something, you must know what you are saying.

“I am talking about the CID boss, I don’t know her, and I am not a political person but I resigned in 1982 after the murder of the 3 judges, what I did is what she should do.

“You take responsibility of what goes on under your watch. I am telling the CID boss that it’s about time she jumped and if she doesn’t jump, push her,” Brigadier Nunoo-Mensah emphasized.
