NDC members paying $2,000 for Kwesi Botchway report - NPP man alleges

NDC's General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketia receiving the Kwest Botchwey report NDC's General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketia receiving the Kwest Botchwey report

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) is taking $2,000 each from its members who want to know the contents of the much sought after Kwesi Botchwey committee report, an aspiring Ashanti Regional New Patriotic Party (NPP) Youth Organiser has alleged.

According to Dennis Kwakwa who is also a member of the NPP's communication , though the NDC maintains that the report is classified and would not be released, he was aware that "NDC members are paying two thousand dollars to see the contents of the report”.

Citing an example to back his claim, Mr Kwakwa stated that:

"Dr. Omane Boamah through his lawyers wrote to the NDC leadership to have copy of the report allegedly indicting him in their defeat and do you know what happened? …..he was asked to pay two thousand dollars before will be given a copy”.

Speaking in an interview on Nhyira FM in Kumasi, he further alleged that the NDC's General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketia and few of the party's national executives were benefitting from the monetisation of the report.

“It is now source of revenue for NDC General Secretary Johnson Asiedu Nketia and many few of their executives”, he claimed, telling the show's "I have copy of the report myself I will tell you off-air how I managed to get it”.

His allegations come in the wake of chaos surrounding the Kwesi Botchwey report. While some media houses claim to have copies of the report and have been serialising it's content, the NDC remains adamant that the report is locked even from some functional executives.

They have described the reports in the media as quoting from a fake report “We’ve taken a position that the Kwesi Botchwey’s report is meant for internal consumption, so it has not been published anywhere,” the General Secretary has stated on a number of occasions.

The Kwesi Botchwey report is the end product of a fact finding committee set up by the NDC to ascertain what really caused their shocking defeat in the 2016 general elections.
