Mahama didn’t know his priorities - Wontumi

Without priorities, one is unable to identify powerful action steps to move one’s initiatives forward each day and this was one critical area that let the John Mahama administration down, a staunch member of the New Patriotic Party has observed.

The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP, Mr. Bernard Antwi Boasiako, tells Peacefmonline.com that the outgoing president surrounded himself with a team that were always economical with the truth and never fed him with ideas that could transform Ghana’s economy.

According to the NPP Chair, the bad handling of President Mahama by his team and family members made him set “infrastructure priorities” with the sole aim of “inflating contract figures to satisfy his selfish needs”.

Mr. Bernard Antwi Boasiako who is also known as Chairman Wontumi added that when you consider most of the infrastructure built by the outgoing president, it tells a story that President Mahama didn’t know how poor the economy under him had become and how he made Ghanaians suffer on daily basis.

“Take a look at when he decided to renovate the Kotokuraba market. It wasn’t needed and a lost priority. He could have used the money to build a market up north for his own people to get money.”

“He claims to be a true son from the north and constantly brags the region is fortunate to have him lead the nation but can anyone tell me the significant thing he did for them?

He didn’t even care about them and I wonder if he feels good about the legacy he has left?”

Aside this, Chairman Wontumi explained that President Mahama’s decision to improve Kumasi Central & Kejetia Market is another classical example of the lost priorities.

He stated that “after insulting Ashantis and calling us ingrates, you don’t expect us to welcome you with open arms and vote for you and your party during an election”.
