Lady Julia consoles Otumfuo with an expensive gold chain

As custom demands, wife of Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Lady Julia, has presented gold necklace and other gifts in honour of the final funeral rite of the late Asantehemaa, Nana Afia Kobi Serwaa Ampem II.

The gift traditionally known as ‘awisiado’, was to console the husband over the loss of his dear mother.

Lady Julia was dressed in a red traditional mourning cloth with a matching headgear and was seen walking majestically to her husband and presented him a gold chain.







Other items including palm wine, cloths, drinks, meat, boxes of water, a white ram and handkerchiefs were seen on the heads of some spouses from royal families to support the funeral.
