I have not endorsed Bagbin - Julius Debrah

Former Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah has vehemently denied reports claiming he has endorsed the candidature of Alban Bagbin for the NDC's flagbearership position.

The Chief of Staff during the Mahama administration insists at no point in time privately or publicly did he endorse or suggest to support Alban Bagbin.

It has been widely speculated that Julius Debrah opted to back the current Second Deputy of Parliament to lead the party to 2020 polls.

In a rejoinder written and signed by Julius Debrah, however, he clarified the said meeting between himself and the Nadowli-Kaleo MP was a request by the latter to commiserate with him on the passing away of his mother.

The former Chief of Staff suggests the stories have been deliberately skewed to score cheap political points.

He asserted, "It is unfortunate that a last-minute request by Mr Bagbin after the one-week commemoration of my late mother to visit will be deliberately twisted for seeming political gain. He was warmly received just like all other dignitaries who came to mourn with my family."

"The news reports are false, and I wish to humbly urge all members and well-wishers of the NDC who have called expressing concern and surprise to kindly ignore the said reports" he continued.

Re- Julius Debrah dumps Mahama for Bagbin

My attention has been drawn to news reports of my supposed endorsement of Mr. Alban Bagbin to lead our great party, the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Let me state emphatically that, I, Julius Debrah, have at no time, either privately or publicly made any statements to suggest my support or endorsement of Mr. Bagbin.

It is unfortunate that a last-minute request by Mr Bagbin after the one-week commemoration of my late mother to visit will be deliberately twisted for seeming political gain. He was warmly received just like all other dignitaries who came to mourn with my family.

The news reports are false, and I wish to humbly urge all members and well-wishers of the NDC who have called expressing concern and surprise to kindly ignore the said reports.
