Indian Super League side North EastUnited have announced the signing of Ghana International Asamoah Gyan ahead of the upcoming India Super League season.

Ghana’s football leading website GHANAsoccernet.com had reported about the move on Wednesday which was later confirmed by the player.

The 33-year old will be making a return to Asia where he spent six seasons and achieved a lot of success especially with UAE club Al-Ain.

Gyan emerged as top scorer in the AFC Champions League in 2014 as well as won the AFC Best Foreign player award.

He will be a marquee signing for the club who have already recruited seven foreign players this season to boost their squad ahead of the upcoming India Super League season which starts on October 21
