Black Stars defender, Nicholas Opoku made his return to the starting lineup for Kasımpaşa as they played out a 1–1 draw with Konyaspor in the Turkish Süper Lig on Sunday, March 8, 2026.
After being rested the previous weekend, the Ghanaian defender was restored to the starting eleven and delivered a composed performance at the back.
Opoku was involved throughout the contest, registering 29 touches and showing accuracy in distribution.
The center-back completed 19 of his 22 passes, including one of his two passes in the final third, while also successfully connecting three of his four long passes.
Defensively, the 27-year-old was solid in duels. He won both of his aerial battles and two of his three ground duels, helping Kasımpaşa remain organized against Konyaspor’s attacking threats.
The Ghana international also contributed one interception and two clearances during the match, playing his part as Kasımpaşa secured a point on the road.
Opoku’s assured display marked a positive return to the starting lineup as he continues to be a key figure in Kasımpaşa’s defense in the Turkish top flight.
