I'm appealing to the new gov't led by H.E. Nana Akufo-Addo, to pay particular attention to the grooming and maintenance the turf of our various sports stadia. Kuffour's gov't took great pains to construct and equip our modern stadia, esp., employing professionals to create the football pitches (turfs) during preparation towards hosting the AFCON tournament in Ghana. Right now, most the turfs (natural grass) have been left to rot; they lack supervision and maintenance. It's a bad practice in Ghana sports. I will also appeal to the Minister for Sports and the GFA boss to take personal interest in the running and management of our various stadia. The Ohene Djan Sports stadium needs some oil painting on all surfaces of all metal bolts & nuts, hinges and railings against rust due to the exposure to salted moisture blowing across, from the Ocean. I hope this humble appeal won't escape their attention.
