Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan has disclosed that he is still a young player to score more in his career insisting he is not in a rush to set any record.

The Black Stars captain has scored 48 goals in 96 appearances for the Black Stars and is looking forward to hit the 50th goal journey ahead of the clash with Mozambique.

But the goal machine has revealed that even though he wants to score, he is not itching to set any new record.

“At 30, am still young to score more so I am not in a rush to set any record. I know I will do that at the right time and with my age, I have more time to play so I will definitely score more,” Gyan noted.

“Even though it is not my target to score because I want to set a record, it is my responsibility as a striker to score.

I always would love the win for the team first before thinking about scoring myself but the irony is that I am the one put there to score. So it is my job to be kissing the net all the time.”
