For sure, the Sports Minister or his Deputy could have showed better political maturity in this saga, by first giving the team a rousing welcome at the KIA, followed by a low-key official reception by the VP at the Flagstaff House, who could have been asked to offer some assurances to the players to calm the waters, and thus avoid the huge political embarrassment that has ensued.
Heads should certainly roll, including that of the Chief Director as well as other technocrats like this 'stone-face' Oti Akenten, who dropped the ball!
