Boateng happy after Champions League debut

AC Milan new boy Kevin-Prince Boateng was pleased after making his Champions League debut for the club. One of Milan's stars was undoubtedly the Ghana who was a driving force from midfield.

The 23-year old German-born entered the fray in the 15th minute of the Rossoneri’s group stage opening win against Auxerre (2-0) when Massimo Ambrosini was injured and although he admitted it was difficult, felt he did well for his new club.

“It was difficult for me, as I came in and couldn’t warm up properly. This is football, it happens, and I think I did well,” he said.

“I just tried to do my best and help the team, as we lost at the weekend and had to show the fans we could get results and play good football.

“There’s a lot of competition for places in midfield, so all I can do is keep working and hope for the weekend.”

His coach too praised the young midfielder.

"Boateng is a very good player who did well coming in, he's got good strength and technique and he's young. He has the characteristics that complete those of the others in midfield," he said.
