Ghanaian soccer fans happy with country’s standing in FIFA ranking

APA-Accra (Ghana) Soccer fans in Ghana on Thursday praised the Ghana Black Stars for making the 20th position in the latest FIFA world ranking released Tuesday, APA learns here.

The fans said this has made Ghana known everywhere after the Black Stars put up an impressive performance in their second World Cup appearance in South Africa 2010.

Asana Gordon, a journalist told APA that the ranking might have pushed more coaches to vie for the vacant Ghana Black Stars’ job after Coach Milovan Rajevac had abandoned the team.

Some also say that the young Stars players were making Ghana proud with their dedicated services to the team and believed that they can one day hit the top spot in the world.

Kojo Asomdwe, a trader, said the Stars must take their friendly matches seriously as FIFA relies on such matches to grade teams.
