Asamoah Gyan named Sports Philanthropist of the year

Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan has been recognized as the best Sports Philanthropist of the year.

The 30-year-old won the award following his social contributions in the country.

Gyan who has been involved in several philanthropic activities is currently funding an Astro-turf being constructed at his alma-mater Accra Academy.

The China-based attacker has also constructed a bore hole in his town in the Brong Ahafo region.

The Ghanaian international is also in contention for the most influential sports personality of the year.
