The Pope appears to be contradictory with the above statements and directly encouraging lawlessness and violence. When someone says a swear at your mother, you do not take the law into your hands with a punch but act like a civilized person by either taking civil action against the person or by educate him/her. A puch will not justify or correct the initial wrong. Is the Pope suggesting that two wrongs make one right?
I cannot understand why the Pope says religion should be untouchable, not be ridiculed or made fun of. Why should the Prophet Muhammad not be represented in art form? Why should faith and religious belief not be questioned or probed to uncover some of the deceptions? Did God in his infinite wisdom not give us the ability to think, question and probe for answers?
The Pope is wrong and if that is what he did (punch people for saying swear words against his mother when he was young, then he was nothing but a hooligan.

But where do the Islam faith followers take the right to describe others who do not believe in their religious dogma as infidels or unbelievers? These people are intolerant but want others to tolerate and accommodate their way of life. Today we still have slavery in most Arab states but it is not condemned. There is slavery in Mauritania today as I write. In Islam women’s rights are curtailed as if their male counterparts had any choice to choose their own sex. When slavery is mentioned most Africans forget that Arabs were trading in slavery before the Europeans set foot on our shores. The eastern coasts of Africa from Somalia to Zanzibar are littered with Arab slavery posts which predates the coming of the Portuguese.
The question is why would any Muslim head towards north or any of the predominantly Christian European countries or America, Canada or Australia when today with a touch of a screen on a cell phone you can get all the information as to how people in these places live. They eat pork; their dress code is less is more. Women sun bake topless. Women wear tangas, topless dress, miniskirts, mini jeans, men and mostly women go regimental in summer, they have Soho you have nudist beach and naturist without clothes in summer, swinger clubs, pornography, sex films etc.
Were I to be a Muslim, I would never tread on this land where people do all these things. But one cannot go to these places and demand from their host to stop this lifestyle due to ones faith. A guest cannot come into your house and tell you the host what to do and what not do. It is amazing that young Muslim born in Europe, America and Canada allow themselves to be manipulated by radical Imams who do not speak English, Dutch, German; Spanish etc who are also are less educated and most probably suffer from inferiority complex to do their dirty job. In most Arabs states they their dress code for women which came from culture and customs of these countries. There is not a single line in the Koran which mentions Sharia law. It is the practices of law in ancient Arabia.
So if an Imam tells you if you (young men) to suicide bomb others so that you become a martyr and enjoy 72 women in the after world; why don’t you ask the Imam to take the lead? How many men do the suicide bomb woman get? We are living a world where if you don’t think others will think for you but then it has a price tag – not cheap. Now these Young men in the Paris attack are dead but those who instigated them are still alive which tells any sensible person that life is precious otherwise those Imams would have done it themselves. Therefore this is mental aberration in its purest form to ask young men and women to kill themselves in the name of God to attain martyrdom. How can God, who is love and peace, condone such brutality, heinous acts and atrocities?
The pope must remember the Catholic Church has its own history of not allowing followers to depict Jesus up until about the 12th century. What a lot of Christians don’t know is that the cross used to be forbidden by the Catholic Church. The cross as we know it today with Jesus crucified on it with linen used to be only a bare cross. It went from a bare cross to a nude Jesus on the cross and finally when Catholic Church couldn’t stop it, the linen was used to cover the privates of Jesus as a compromise. So the Catholic Church itself has a similar history to what the Islam clerics are saying today. But when the Catholic Church got the appetite for paintings and sculptures most of the churches were decorated with frescos and lot pompous jewels. Michelangelo and Leonardo da Vinci Hello!
This is one side of history many Christians are not told. The Catholic Church which is the general church suppressed freedom of speech for many centuries until the state was separated from the church. Even today only excerpts of the bible are read to the congregation. Was it not for the German theologist Martin Luther - the bible will still remain a book of seven seals which is shrouded in secrecy. If one visits the Bible museum in Amsterdam one gets familiar with how kings and queens printed their own versions of the Bible which some Versions differ from others.
Throughout the 11th century to the 18th century there were whore Popes who had children on the side and committed all sorts of crime. The idea of celibate is contentious and a recent idea. That is a fact . The idea of an infallible Pope is 19th concept; that is the gospel truth. There wasn’t anything like that before until caricatures of the Pope appeared in the 19th centuries. It is therefore a shame that our own Cardinal Turkson who is now in Vatican and sitting at the source of knowledge will aid and abet by concealing such information from her own people in Africa and elsewhere.
It is amazing that pope Francis who I really admire but would beg to differ here because he is human being and to err is human. The pope would agree that any human who walked the surface of this earth cannot be faceless. Every human being has facial features so why would anyone take offence in an image of another human being? That’s a lot of nonsense and the pope knows it. Why do the same people use modern media to show case their acts of terror?

There are laws against hate crime, against racism, against homophobia etc. If freedom of expression means you can say anything or verbally or racially abuse anyone, why are bills passed into law to curtail freedom of expression? Every right thinking person abhorred and condemned the murder of those guys in Paris, but in the same vein, Charlie Hebdo editors were and are still irresponsible. You will never see such a publication in the UK from any UK based media outlet.

Bishop of the Lagos Diocese had demonstrated such a balance,when he blasted Catholic Clergy,who had taken sides in his country`s current presidential election campaign,adding he told off politicians who called on him,seeking his personal endorsement!

In the first place, it was a horrible act for the people to have been killed. And I condemn that!
All the same I was expecting just a ONE head of state to make statement on the limits of freedom of speech.
The fact is that people cannot provoke, insult or defame others under the cover of freedom of speech. Freedom of spech and provication are not he same.
I'll give two instances to prove that FoS has limits.
A marine summarily suspended when he made a negative comment on Obama.
Some years later a lady German commissioner was dismissed was for stating that Africans are biologically inferior to Whites.
And in Ghana, let a person stand up and tell govt to ban all churches. I bet half of Ghana will march on the streets because somebody is exercising his freedom of speech.
If freedom of speech strecthes ad infinitum, why were the marine and the lady dismissed.
So whether we want to hear it or not freedom of speech is not limitless. It has a rather fuzzy limit.

Charlie is not about free speech, Charlie is about instigation and provocation, knowing quite qwell that these provocations will induce strong responses from some of those offended. The French government not too long ago shut down a French newspaper that mocked the death of a GFrench President, yet the same French government is blindly supporting media provocateurs hiding behind the vail of free speech. It's one thing to use the paper to criticize a religion, but it's another to use the paper to foolishly provoke others by ridiculing their prophet. The response of the French government and people after the unfortunate attacks is highly hypocritical.

Charlie Hebdo is not about freedom of expression, it's about hiding behind the vail of freedom of expression to intentionally provoke Muslims. Pick up a phone and call the police, telling them that you'll shoot the president of France. That's supposed to be freedom of expression, by the standards laid out by the actions of the French government. Yet the French police will quickly arrest you for making that phone call, claiming you're a danger to the life of the President, though they have no evidence that you intend to carry out that act. Charlie's intentional provocation of Muslims in France was a way to for the paper to sell its publications, and that is stooping low to make money. While I strongly condemn the acts of Muslims who use violence against others as a response to what they perceive to be an insult to their religion, I still believe the French government and the Charlie Hebdo publication are on a wrong course in their claims of freedom of expression. Grown folks from both sides, the French government and Hebdo as well as the Muslims who respond with violence, are acting irresponsibly without any regard to the cost of lives. One cannot publicly claim to have respect for Muslims and their faith, while condoning the intentional provocation of theat faith by others. This is precisely what the French government and its supporters are doing. charlie is wrong, and so too are the Muslim attackers who took the lives of others as their response to Charlie's satire of their prophet.
