Hello everybody, This subject is really interesting. It depends on the enemy you're dealing with. If the enemy is human, then I agree with the Apostle that he/she must be treated with love. In fact, such a person rather needs our prayers badly for God to show mercy on his/her poor soul. Another reason is that we are human and can equally be guilty before God. That explains why we're enjoined to forgive those who offend us in the Lord's prayer so that we may also enjoy pardon for our sins.
However, if the enemy is evil spirit, then my approach will be military, in the name of Jesus i.e. I will use the God-given power to me as a catholic/christian to engage the evil forces in battle/prayer. WHY? Because these evil spirits work against God and against our growth in God's love. The Archangel Michael also does that (Rev12)
Have you thought of why there are too many troubles in the life of Christians? It is the devil at work in our desolating experiences. We need to grow by the day in the knowledge, wisdom and love of God so we can discern His voice and act appropriately. May God be with everybody. IKE

Secondly, its a good way of returning woe for woe. when elija had a situation, he (Elijah) replied to the captain, "If I am a man of God, let fire come down from heaven and destroy you and your fifty men!" Then fire fell from heaven and killed them. If you make it your business to trouble people then you should not be surprised when it lands back.

I came to fulfil the law and the prohesies, I came to make all things new. Cursings changed to Blessings, Killings changed to saving of lives. You wouldn't need to expend your energy in praying against your enemies if you have the Love of Christ in you. Remember, He is the Light of the world. Would you rather obey him than Moses or Elijah. Moses the intercessor. Joshua,and all the men of valour in Hebrews with swords cleaving to their arms. Jonah was angry at God for using him as a messenger of doom only to then have a change of heart. Some bad people need to get to a place of suffering so that they can also go and cry when they are in trouble. Men of Sodom thought they had it cool and easy with no morals. The book of numbers has enough stories on judgements. jeremiah gave doom messages. In the book of Kings, Jehoshaphat wanted to know from the LORD if they should fight so the king sent a request. In the entire saga. they brought Micaiah who prophesied, but Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah went near and gave Micaiah a dirty big slap on the cheek, and said, “Which way did the spirit from the LORD go from me to speak to you?”
What did Micaiah say? “Indeed, you shall see on that day when you go into an inner chamber to hide!” Also the king said they should put Micaih in prison, and feed him with bread of affliction and water of affliction, until he gets back in peace.
Now, what did Micaih do wrong? Stephen was stoned. Johns head was cut off to make somebody happy. Today Christians are killed for their fath and that was even foreteold. Fact - some people are bad. What's wrong if people fight back. Arent soldiers supposed to be trained. Proverbs 25:26 - A righteous man falling down before the wicked is as a troubled fountain, and a corrupt spring. When you pray with others to get them out of their problems and bring them to lean on God, what are you doing?

If you think any of them is the cause of your woes consider killing yourself first bcos the wages of sin is death. Man need to repent and live righteous life in order to have God's blessings to live on earth. Our sins make us cursed people and we tend to blame others. Do you remember that Christ came to fulfil the law and the prophecies ,thus, making all things New. The OLd testament says Curse and Kill your enemies, and Christ that you claim to have saved you tells you to love and pray for your enemies. Tell me, where your allegeance lie?
