One more thing, before the trio knew their God was able, they might have known something, which means they had an understandings of their own contrary to the rest of the population. My problem is that USA pastors are trying to make church, the assembley of human beings to worship God an important than the scriptures of truth which promotes righteousness in Christ Jesus which is salvation into the kingdom of God. You might not see the differences,but reading this, think about it carefully. A person can worship God alone through the savior God. All that faith, personal relationships talks boils down to Salvation journey of Christian walk. Paul said it best, He was fighting the good fight to gain what? to enter into the kingdom of God which came through the salvation purposes of the savior Lord God. Before faith a believer should know scriptures or the gospel.
The introduction of scriptures for repentance does not use the faith of converts, but the faith of the conductor. Having been introduced, then faith start working in the converts, even that a converts will go through so many doubts for scriptures to secure salvation properly into them. Likewise, the Lord's kind of Love.

Most people that Jesus saved in bible times although believed in God and also were in expectation of the coming messiah, went after Jesus not because they wanted to be saved. Rather, they had a problem they thought Jesus could help and through that God saved some. Even Jesus actually searched for people with problems to help them - CARE.
No tithes, offerings, seed, etc. were collected by master Jesus himself and the early church who actually saw how Jesus put physical care and wellbeing of people first even before salvation also collected no ones money for purposes of church maintenance by any LAW. Out of love they gave not to fatty pastors or for building mega infrastructures but to share for the sake of the poor, needy, widows, etc.
Your point is clear. God in recent times is speaking to me about believers being too much busy with 'activities of worship' than the actual worship itself. Jesus the master taught us that whoever loves God must first demonstrate that love in their own follow humans. Thus, doing good to our neighbour humans and also watching carefully that our actions do not ruin lives - LOVE.
Christian numbers are growing but the POWER of love that makes us Christians is waning as 'some' preachers are directing believers attention to material blessings than love blessings. Jesus said there is no law greater than love for God and mankind. Intriguingly, the love for God is subset and less than love for mankind which is greater, because whoever loves his neighbour is automatic lover of God but the case may not be so vice versa. The early believers of Jesus shared much of material blessings just as the word of God. How many of us with 2, 3, 4,.....properties would even sell one to feed the hungry, cloth the naked, drink for the thirsty, help strangers, the sick, etc. Because today we are told blessings is wealth accumulation instead of wealth sharing so we think one is deprived of blessings when stock depletes for the sake of sharing.
Anyway to the main point, I ask would Jesus sanction no hand shake for Ebola sake? Do we now see power over diseases in common sense prevention? And, yet send people away to get fed elsewhere without breaking break and fish which believers and churches have stocks then blame politicians, governments, economy, forex, etc?

By the way the Catholic Church has also directed their member to "minimize handshake". I think that we must applaud these churches for been proactive instead of reactive which is the cause of poverty in Africa.
The Lighthouse Chapel is the most efficiently and competently run organization/institution in Ghana.
