Many have been so deceived to worship (honor) an idol by kissing, or pointing a hand at it during a very important annual religious activity, and then symbolically stoning the devil.
Question: does God want me to be part of a religion which worships an idol, and then label the idol as God? Will not this be self-deception?

TITHES IS ROBBING GOD'S PEOPLE
No topic excites many pastors more than tithes and tithing. Waxing eloquent, pastors with fiery zeal, would teach about how if you pay tithes God would bless you. How your business would flourish, how you would find that rich husband and how all would go well in your life. Blessings would flow like the Jordan River and life would be a bed of hibiscus petals. Conversely, you are also threatened and psychologically terrorized for not paying tithes- there would be no breakthroughs in your life, God would take away from you. Nothing would go well for you. Worst of all, you would be cursed by God because you have stolen from Him. Like the mighty spear of Goliath, Malachi 3:10 is launched at your heart.
"Will a man rob God? Yet you rob me. But you ask, 'How do we rob you?' In tithes and offerings. You are under a curse - the whole nation of you - because you are robbing me." (Malachi 3:8, 9)
This verse has been used to intimidate many Christians into shelling out 10% of their income as tithes. It is probably the only verse in the Bible that many pastors quote when preaching about tithes. Other verses in Leviticus and Deuteronomy that shed more light on the issue are almost never mentioned. Church members are kept in the dark by design.
Was God rebuking the nation of Israel or the nation of levitical priests in Malachi? Malachi 2:1, explains further,"And this commandment is for you, O priests." God was actually rebuking the Levites for abusing the trust of the people. God is a spirit and does not need food but He wanted the poor to be fed. The Levites were the ones under a curse. Christ broke the curse of the law, so Christians cannot be under a curse today for not obeying the law of tithes.
Who received tithes?
Tithe was God’s way of specifically taking care of the poor Levites, orphans, widows, strangers in Israel. This was the only reason God wanted food in his house. God does not need food. Deuteronomy 26:12, clearly states that when all the tithe is collected “then you shall give it to the Levite, to the stranger to the orphan, and to the widow, that they may eat in your towns and be satisfied.” Deuteronomy 14:28-29 New International Version (NIV) "bring all the tithes of that year’s produce and store it in your towns, so that the Levites (who have no allotment or inheritance of their own) and the foreigners, the fatherless and the widows who live in your towns may come and eat and be satisfied, and so that the LORD your God may bless you in all the work of your hands." Did Jesus, Mathew and Paul receive tithes?
Jesus was from the line of Judah so could not receive tithes. Only Levites from the line of Levi could receive tithes. Though the twelve apostles were men of God, they could not receive tithes because of their tribal lineage. How then can pastors today ask for tithes? Are they Levites? If the apostle Paul is not a Levite so could not take tithes why are some pastors taking tithes? The fact that one is a man of God does not qualify one to receive tithes. Even prophets and other men of God in the Bible, not from the tribe of Levi, could not benefit from tithes.
Did Jesus and his apostles pay tithes?
Tithe was never taken in fish or silver or cash. Paul as a tent-maker was not required to pay tithes. Peter as a fisherman did not pay tithes on fish he caught. That was the law of God. None of the twelve apostles could pay tithes because they were not farmers or shepherds/ herders.
Did Abraham, Noah and Jacob pay tithes?
Abraham did not pay tithes. He gave ten percent of the spoils of war to Melchizedek, King of Salem. God did not command Abraham to give. It was from his free will. Abraham did not tithe from his personal property, and there is no record in the Bible that he did.
Jacob also gave a conditional 10% to God which was not a tithe. There is no record of Jacob paying any tithes after this. The traditional 10% in Middle Eastern societies is different from the legalistic mosaic tithe from God. The mosaic tithe was not optional, it was the law.
Without tithes, the message of the Gospel could not be preached
God in His infinite wisdom asked for tithes to be used for the poor and needy. God did not request tithes to be used for pastor's salary, cars, church organ or choir robes. God explicitly said use it to feed the poor Levites and the orphans, widows and strangers.
God does not need tithes to spread His word. The apostles gave their lives to spread the gospel of Christ without taking tithes from anyone. Many churches function perfectly today without tithes. We cannot disobey God with the excuse that we are spreading the gospel.
Even if you are poor, unemployed and struggling financially, now is the time to pay your tithes.
Nooooo!!! This is twisting and misquoting the Bible because we want to take money from the poor. The Bible says do not take tithes from the poor and needy. The poor are to benefit from the tithes. They are to be given tithes. Telling the poor to pay tithes, with promises that God would open the windows of heaven and pour blessings on them is a big con game.
The Bible says those with less than ten goats or sheep were exempted from paying tithes. God did not take tithes from the poor. Telling the poor and needy that if they don't pay tithes God has cursed them is the ultimate in greed and callousness. Some pastors tell poor church members to pay tithes before their rent or children’s school fees and expect miracles. Some tell the congregation not to worry about what the tithe is used for. They say to just pay the tithes and leave the rest to God.
Would paying tithes make you rich and prosperous?
The promise of breakthroughs and prosperity and material blessings is used as a bait to make many pour their hard-earned money into the bank accounts of some pastors. This is nothing but manipulation. If the gospel of Christ is about acquiring earthly possessions how come the apostle Paul was not rich? How come John the Baptist, Peter, John and the other apostles did not get financial breakthroughs? Many of Christ's apostles were persecuted and killed. Life was not rosy for them. Were they not blessed men of God? If you believe pastors who tell you that you would prosper financially if you pay tithes, then you need serious Bible study. People like Oprah Winfrey, Ted Turner, LeBron James etc. are very wealthy, but they do not pay tithes, they are not even Christians. If you believe paying tithes would open gates to riches for you, then you are in for great disappointment and cannot carry the cross of Christ.
Should I give to my church?
Yes, absolutely! Give to the church. Your offering helps the church a lot. Paul spoke about supporting the church. But give from your heart to God and expect nothing in return. Give because you love God. It is free-will, not a binding law like tithing. God had a special purpose for the tithes. It was to feed the poor and needy in society. It was to take care of the Levites who were poor, not wealthy pastors who have mansions, fancy cars and are far richer than most in the congregation
Should Christians pay tithes today?
Jesus and his apostles did not pay tithes, neither did they accept tithes. The Pharisees obeyed all the 613 mosaic laws, so they paid tithes. Today, Christians are not under the law, so we do not follow the Mosaic Law, as we are under grace and not the law. How come so much emphasis is laid on only tithes but not the other 613 laws? If we have to pay tithes then we have to follow all the laws, like the Pharisees. When a child disobeys the parent, he has to be stoned to death according to the old law. Who is killing the church of Christ?
It is unlawful and unbiblical for anyone outside of the tribe of Levi to receive tithes, be they prophets, bishops, arch-bishops or reverend-doctors. Tithe has become the yoke around many Christians’ neck. When the clergy enslaves the masses and amass wealth at the expense of the poor it creates a history of resentment against the church. Many thinking people become suspicious of religion. When leaders of a faith insult the trust of their flock with misinformation and manipulation, the backlash can be unfavorable to all. The gospel of Christ suffers when boys are molested by clergy just as when money becomes their main focus. Many centuries ago, Martin Luther had to revolt again the leaders of the church who were taking the faithful for fools. You can fool some of the people some of the time but all the people cannot be fooled all the time. At some point Europe woke up.The shady history of the church in Europe has forced many out of Christianity. Today Christianity is dying in Europe. No wonder, a recent pope said, the future of the church is in Africa. Are our pastors robbing God, are they killing the church of Christ?

I have other bibles with the same quotation but the word "begotten" is omitted. Is that a typo or a doubt in the usage of the word "begotten" by God. That person who removed the word "begotten" from other bibles should definitely be smart to understand that God doesn't begotten, besides God has called other people in the bible as sons and I know you believe I will be a son of God if I repent.

WHY PAYING TITHE IS NOT BIBLICAL
As said in the previous post, I used to teach and preach tithing, and when I did, the people just got up and parted with their money. One time, at a church here in Atlanta, Georgia, a pastor friend complained bitterly about the low financial position of his church and invited me to come and speak on tithing, saying his congregation didn't like tithing, and that even weekly offerings were very low. I told him, " Well, it's going to be different on Sunday." Then he asked me, " How ? " I said, " You wait and see ! " As you can imagine, the offering was over and above by about 1000 % the next Sunday. Those who didn't have cash wrote cheques like crazy, and I was proud to coerce them to bring out their money, telling them how they've robbed God and denied themselves blessings, using the "curse" of Malachi 3:9, for good measure ! Finally, I exhorted and commanded them, " Bring all the tithes into the storehouse.....! " I could see the terror on some faces and a lady was literally shaking as she wrote her cheque !
Lord, be merciful to us and forgive us for our many transgressions, twisting Your Word, misapplying Scriptures and abusing Your congregation with our greed and love for money ! Thank You for Your mercy and for Your blood which cleanses us from all sin ! I have repented and cannot in all good conscience preach or teach tithing again, because it is not for the New Testament church ! After carefully studying the Scriptures, I realized that Malachi was talking about corrupt priests in the Old Testament and not the New Testament believers, but these Scriptures in Malachi 3:8-12, have been used for generations to "scam" the Lord's people into parting with their money. Certainly, there are preachers who have been speaking against this abuse of Scriptures and "scamming" the Lord's people, but they have been looked upon with disdain and scorn and venom, but it is better for us to be scorned by mortal men than to fall into the hands of the living God. Hebrews 10:31. " Woe to the pastors that destroy and scatter the sheep of My pasture, saith the Lord." Jeremiah 23:1.
AM I UNDER A CURSE IF I DON'T TITHE ?
No, my beloved, you're not cursed if you don't tithe, and neither are you blessed if you do; God does not need your money in order to bless you ! Abraham was already blessed by God before he ever thought of giving tithes, and so don't let any sakawa prophet, pastor, apostle, bishop, archbishop, or whoever intimidate you by twisting Scriptures to steal your money. The believer should give cheerfully, out of love for the Lord and His work, and not be pressured or threatened or cursed into giving. Our giving could be 10%, 100%, 1000%, 1% or zero %. according to our ability ! The Lord is more interested in our motivation than in the amount we give. Do you remember the widow's mite ? Luke 21:1-4.
What is your motivation for giving money or property to the church ? Is it so that you could be elevated in the church by your pastor ? Is it so that people would know that you are the highest giver in the church ? Is it to support the Lord's work or do you want favours from your pastor or prophet or whatever they call themselves ? Are you under a guilty conscience and do you think giving money to the church would ease the pain ? Did you rob or steal or commit adultery or fornication and expect the pastor to take your money and pray for you ? Remember, the Lord says, " I hate robbery for burnt offering." Isaiah 61:8. He does not delight in "stinking" or blood money ! Alas, many preachers are so greedy for money that they don't even care how you got the money, and would put curses on you instead of blessings.

Yes, in Matthew 23:23, He acknowledged that tithing was an obligation under the Old Covenant, but even so He taught the Pharisees to show mercy and kindness and faith. Besides, the Old Covenant was still in effect, and Jesus spoke to them as under the Law. The New Covenant was only ratified after His blood was shed on the cross. Jesus did not collect tithes from anyone, though He came to die for all mankind, therefore don't allow any greedy or ignorant pastor, prophet, apostle, bishop or archbishop to bamboozle you into paying tithes.
WARNING TO FALSE PROPHETS AND PASTORS
All over Ghana, churches are springing up everywhere like mushrooms and this is a good thing only if the motivation is right. But the truth is many are in the ministry not because the Lord has called them, but because they want to make easy money from gullible people who don't know the Bible. They love your money more than they love your soul. They are in it for the money; it's all about the money. God has not sent many of them yet they run, giving false prophesies and vain promises to helpless people. Jeremiah 23:21; Ezekiel 13:1-23. The Lord will deliver His people out of their hands, but the people need to be wise, and stop giving their money to greedy wolves in sheep's clothing. These false pastors and prophets need to start their own businesses to make their money, and stop fleecing the people in the name of the Lord for judgment is coming and has come !
BLESSED OR CURSED ?
Finally, if anyone feels they are being blessed for giving tithes, good for them, and they can continue to do so if they like. But if you feel you're under a curse, I can assure you that it is not because you don't pay tithes, but it could be something else. The Lord Jesus became a curse for us so that the blessings of Abraham shall be our portion. Galatians 3:13-14. If there is any sin in your life, confess it before the Lord and ask for forgiveness. Change your ways and do what is pleasing to the Lord and let His blessings follow you.

Elsewhere in the Scriptures the word "protokokos" is used to denote the preeminence of Christ.

When one reads the Genesis account of creation one quickly realizes that man is part of the cosmos (Genesis 2:7), the orderly creation of the universe. Thus God teaches us we are controlled by natural laws.
The revelation of God as the originator of moral laws were given to Adam and Eve, a couple who were created on the 6th day of creation week, and made in the image of God (Genesis 1:27). Familiar with God's Law, as intimated by the being created before the Sabbath, their relationship with the rest of creation was to be guided by God's Law. Again, God gave them an order not to eat of the tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil (Genesis 2:16-17).
The failure of Adam and Eve to follow God's commandment in Eden introduced sin in our world. The world became polluted with sin and its effects-- man will perish in hell with the fallen angels.
Weakened by sin, man was incapable of rendering a perfect obedience to God's Law.
God revealed his only plan of salvation in Eden to the fallen couple. Man will have a second chance through his Covenant, Christ (Isaiah 42:6) if he (man) believes Him (John 3:16).
"Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage. For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham. Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people. 28 At the end of every three years, bring all the tithes of that year’s produce and store it in your towns, 29 so that the Levites (who have no allotment or inheritance of their own) and the foreigners, the fatherless and the widows who live in your towns may come and eat and be satisfied, and so that the Lord your God may bless you in all the work of your hands.

IF PASTORS ARE THE LEVITES OF TODAY THEN THE APOSTLE PAUL AND THE OTHER DICIPLES OF JESUS COULD CLAIM TO BE THE LEVITES OF THEIR TIME AND TAKE TITHES. MOST OF THE APOSTLES OF CHRIST DEDICATED THEIR LIFE TO THE GOSPEL OF CHRIST AND DID NOT WORK. DID THEY BENEFIT FROM TITHES LIKE THE LEVITES? NO. John the baptist was a prophet, yet he placed himself under Jesus Christ and that was BC. AD does not provides any prophet, because Jesus Christ was the last prophet. All who came under Jesus were messengers like me.
Now it come to the conclusion that, what are these pastors teaching about? They are just creating their own plans to force a person they have abused into something that does not come from the Lord Jesus Christ to cover up their lawlessness before their congregations. In calatians 3:26, it said" therefore in Christ Jesus, there is no female or male", which proves that marrying to Christ Jesus does not constitute womanhood. The catholic assertion is religion, and it has no place in SALVATION scriptures.Religion distort Jesus Christ for salvation gospel to become twisted.
I AM AND I AM in the capital case means absolute power(Odenehoso in twi), that is all that. I am in lower case means lesser power or first person singular in english language. Don't add anything more to it. If you do, you are transforming clear statements into religion; a man-made-gospel without the inspire spirit of Christ Jesus.
