That is atleast affordable to every body; rich or poor, christian or non-christian.For some time now since Pope Benedict made known to the catholic community and the whole world his intention to resign- which comes off in a little over 13 hours time- many Ghanaians think that Turkson will be the next pope. I do no know exactly what has suddenly given them that idea. I only wish that those who think he will be or should be the next pope knew a little more. What have you seen him or what has he done to the extend that it has suddenly dawn on you to think that way. I personaly see it differently: Turkson can not be thenext pope. There are more qualified and people of integrity that than him. After all vatican politics is not like NPP/NDC politics in Ghana where it is "all die be die" for power. Turkson is a minute personality in the vatican and I would advise my country men and women to forget it and go about their normal businesses that have much more to do with their earning their daily bread than to focus on wether Turkson will be pope or not. When he becomes or not will that put food on your table or in your bowl? Certainly NO. So forget of this nationalistic rubbish and go about working to earn your daily bread for wether he becomes or not is none of your damned business. I am a convinced catholic but I do not speculate on such things. There are more important and pressing things for us to do as individuals and as a nation than to waste them on such things. Just remember this the next pope will never, never,be Turkson. YOu can write it onthe wall of your hall or wherever and give me reason when the conclave will be over in a few weeks time.

What does that J Ghanaian Catholic mean by "There are more qualified and people of integrity that than him" This is stupid, and I sincerely believe that this hollow coconut head does not know what it is talking about.
Cardinal Turkson is well read, deeply spiritual and well versed in Catholic thelogy. More important, he holds one of the most important post in the Vatican, The Peace and Justice Council. His short stint in the Vatican has well and adequately prepared him for any leadership position in the Vatican.

A friend mine said, the Catholic Church currently is bedevilled with many challenges and she would not like an African to be elected Pope now. This is for the simple reason that if an African is elected and something untoward happened in the Catholic Church now, the conclusion would be that it is because it was an African Pope and that is why the Catholic has disintegrated. I believed her up to a point. True there are many challenges in the Church today. The Church of Christ has however gone through many such challenges and the jaws of hell shall never prevail against her. Let us therefore pray not just for the Cardinal from our country but for all Cardinals so that the right man will be chosen to lead the 1.2 billion Catholics.If our Cardinal is the right man now, the Holy Spirit in whom I believe in will make sure he is elected.

To me, it does matter what Cardinal Turkson's color is; whether he is black, brown, blue or white, once he qualifies to do the job, i don't see the reason why he should be denied.
