Any person on either side of the political divide can ask the question, whether Ghana ceased to exist when Rawlings and his murderous military killed the Judges and the former Heads of State. If Ghana survived the extra-judicial killing of very very important personalities such as Judges of the Superior Court of Judicature, and former Heads of State, then the Republic will surely survive the death of an army Major.

Quite apart from that, know also that Colombia is home to the 3rd largest African-descendant population in the Americas (3rd after USA and Brazil). Some these descedants originate from the Akan locales of what is now Ghana. The Ananse story is known to them (albeit in Spanish, where Ananse is sometimes referred to as "Anancio"). There is an annual "Anansi Festival" of cinema and video in Cali, Colombia by the Afro-descendants.
