The Buzz (Showbizz Blog)More models for ExopaSubmitted on 2009-11-21 05:23:16 ![]() THE EXOPA Modelling Agency will this Saturday hold this year’s edition of its mass graduation ceremony for over 120 persons who underwent training at the Exopa Burge training institute. The school after every six weeks of training holds mini graduation ceremonies for students. After four sessions of mini graduation ceremonies, a mass graduation is held where all graduates come together for a bigger celebration. This year’s event is expected to be bigger than last year’s as it will be full of activities, including modelling. It is expected to attract a number of important personalities in the fashion and modelling industries, as well the showbiz industry. The agency does not only teach people how to model on the runway, they also coach their models on how to control themselves and walk gracefully in public places. Graduates, some as young as 4, who will take part in the ceremony will be given their professional modelling certificates for studying at Exopa Burge. Joycelyn Nketia, General Manageress of the Exopa Modelling Agency told BEATWAVES on Monday that the graduation ceremony, among other objectives, is to create a platform for the models to interact and become familiar with one another. The ceremony, she indicated, is scheduled to start in the afternoon and end late in the evening with an after party at the Cinderella’s Night Club, behind the Police Headquarters. Meanwhile, she said management is not leaving stones unturned for its upcoming L Fashion Night for plus-size models on December 24. The event, which was introduced just last year, aims at providing a platform for plus-size models to strut their God-given bodies, as well as to help nurture the ones who may be interested in a modelling career. Beyond that, it is also to append some innovation into Ghana's fashion industry. Auditions for the exciting event are scheduled to commence on November 25 at the Exopa Burge modelling school. Nadia Buari wants her privacy Submitted on 2009-11-19 04:49:13 ![]() Ghana Screen goddess, Nadia Buari, has expressed a deep worry about how sections of the local media have been ‘mishandling’ issues concerning her private life. Speaking n an exclusive interview with News-One last Sunday after the paper tracked her to her new shooting location at Akosombo in the Eastern Region, Nadia said the media has become one of the major challenges in her chosen career aside time constrains and other difficulties every actor faces. She said the media has been invading her privacy to an extent that “Every now and then people are assuming things about me and publishing it.” According to Nadia, even though her fans want to know what is going on in her life, the media must be cautious and respect her privacy, saying she considers matters concerning her relationship private. “I feel that part of me is very personal, very private so it should stay that way. What I am bringing to the public is the movies. It is what I am doing, my career is my job. That is what we should be talking about. I don’t like to talk about my private life and so I don’t want my private life out there,” she cautioned. The actress is also saddened by comments that she is snobbish. She said she is an introvert, as such, she always likes keeping to herself. But most people including some of her colleagues in the movie industry misconstrue that to mean arrogance and being snobbish. “I am extremely quite because I am very shy person. You will never know until you get close to me and you will know the kind of person I am.” She would, however, not talk about her alleged collapsed relationship with Michael Essien and other allegations that she had a child with a Holland-based Ghanaian. But she refuted rumours that amorously linked her to Van Vicker, saying it was because of the good chemistry that always existed between her and Van in their movies that made people think they were having a secret affairs. Nadia also reacted to News One’s earlier reports that she had not been attending her own movie premiers. “Why wouldn’t I come to the premiere of my own movies and meet my fans and sign autographs and take pictures with them? Every time my movies are premiered, I don’t know when they are going to premiere, they never discuss it with us to find out if our schedule is right and you know I am always out of the country.” On her marriage plans she said: “I want to establish myself well before I get married. Before you become somebody’s wife, you must have your own life. I have to work so hard to get to this point of my life and I am going to continue because I don’t think I have achieved enough or what I want to achieve. Marriage kind of pulls you down. It demands a lot and I am not willing to relax, I want to work harder and get somewhere. I will get married but not anytime soon. Probably a couple of years, I am not sure. But anyway, hey! You never know. I may say this now but tomorrow may come with something different.” Last week, the actress showed her humanitarian side at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, when she doled out one thousand dollars as her contribution to save the life of a young girl suffering from brain tumor. Nadia said she is about to launch her Buari Foundation very soon to continue her charity project in and around Nima, Agbogbloshie and some deprived areas. Currently, she said she has lost count of her movies but could tell it is over thirty movies. In the future, Nadia hopes to stride into Hollywood and later produce and direct her own movies.
