  Agree with the choice of flats over heels for biomechanic reasons but, since arch support was mentioned, I thought I'd comment on that. I propose that arch support, in most cases, is doing more harm than good. Our feet are brilliantly designed to support the full weight of the human body unaided. When we artificially support our arches they become weak and then HAVE to be supported. There are always exceptions but the best thing for our feet is to allow them to move freely the way they are designed to move. Strong healthy feet require no support at all.
