  We are never proud of anything in our local language. What kind of slavery mentality is this? Do American cinemas show African or twi movies? Why are we so backward? It would be a great economic booster to start building these cinemas. I grew up going to the cinema with my dad. We need the arts to develop as humans. Kumawood would survive.

  The problem is the fact that the twi movies or the kumawood actors are becoming more famous than the so-called class actors. Its jealousy.The writer should be very ignorant or very stupid to think that its low class individuals that like kumawood movies. Infact all Akan speakers irrespective of their levels in society likes such movies and prefer it to the ewe dominated poorly casted so called English movies. We Akans like our language and when premiering of Akan movies start, you would see a higher patronage than the other movies. I understand silverbird are not showing Akan movies because most of their clients are tourist from other countries who may not understand the language.
