Any wonder Frimpog Manso's dream of becoming the best film Producer ever in Ghana collapsed abruptly. Frimpong Manso contributed greatly to the snob or less partronage of Ghanaian film during the times she thought she was helping to resusitate the dwindling fortunes of Ghana films industry. There were lots of things she did wrongly but refused to accept her mistakes when her attention was drawn to; just like this very recent outburst on copying foreign films and her encouraging the speaking of LAFA in her films. Am not surprised her ten parts film dream ended midway through because of lack of partronage, it tells Frimpong Manso Ghanaians love what represents their culture and traditions and not what someone imposes of a foreign culture in a film. Frimpong Manso better listens to advices otherwise she'll continue to confront failures in whatever business shebis involved.

NONSENSE! I can defend her on the issue of copying material of other artists but i do agree with her assertions that LAFA, invariably a product of culture imperialism, is not her doing but rather the work of the ever pervasive Ghanaian culture of parents doing everything in their power to send their children abroad for education. She is right because you can't expect somebody to have a foreign education yet not adopt some or all of the nuasances that accompanies it. It's just not realistic. Besides, language like everything else evolves. In other words, people should just stop being petty and myopic and face facts and realize that the common english the current generation of Ghanaians speak is very different from the english that our forebears spoke. Also, i think we need to eradicate this attitude of mediocre whereby everything is done half-assed. If you are going to speak a certain language, speak it well or don't speak it at all. If one does not like english speaking movies, watch the Akan ones. Its that simple. The reason why i think she may be perceived to be marginally successful can be traced to the fact that the Ghanaian populace is probably not ready for that quality of work. Besides, i think she needs to do a better job on the business side of her production. There's a reason why major world class movie houses have PR, Accounting, Marketing, Advertising depts, to name but a few.

We need to stop this primitive and destructive habit of bringing our best and brightests down. We need to support each other because at the end of the day, the more successful she and her partners are, the more jobs that will create. So if for nothing at all, we should support because of this.
