Who said its a Ghanaian thing, even here in the USA, its here. When you decide to be with a woman who already has kids, its a huge sacrifice. First of all, the kids may never accord you the resspect you desire, and you have to deal with the kids father, your woman's ex. and between ex's their sexual fire can start without warning. There's also the issue of how many children you can have with her,...maebe she only wants 2 more kids, and lets say you want 4 kids of your own,...so women before you open your legs and let some one and impregnate you, ask yourself if this man and relationship will last the test of tim, insteadd of just looking for a good !!! I thank god I married a woman with ZERO kids, I don't want uneccasary headache. Some have done it and it worked, but how do you know wether if you do it, it will work for you, with all the unpredictables???????

It is not a taboo BUT, it is a complicated scenario that most men will avoid. Especially if they are well off with no children of their own or young starting out in life. At you age, we as men do not have the maturity to accept and raise someone else's child as we are going towards making our own children. At old age when we are mature and rich, we have seen it all and have been true too many stressful situations with women to put ourselves in a scenario of dating a born one women. This is what akwasi broni calls a catch 22 but it is not taboo bia. If you are humble, appreciative and not arrogant, you might still find someone to share your life with that is worthy of raising your child with you.

Everything will be about her and her daughter/son and you are made to feel like a nuisance outsider. She start to see you as a means of survival and that is where it gets tricky. Personally know a man whereby the woman collaborated with her daughter and created a sexual charge for the man after using him. It took years to clear his name but he was never the same and died shortly after the court case came to an end. Experience is the best teacher. I have been there and will never go back now as a mature well off man. I will not suggest an inexperienced young man to play around with a single mother.

Hmm. My sister, it is not a taboo to marry a woman who has kids. The problem is this:
You man who loves your wife so much must also care for the children if you really want to see her happy. While you fight to see that done successfully, the father of the children is just waiting around the corner and after some years he will surely come for his children. Another problem is the fact that we witness children and their mothers play their step father rough in life.
The next one is we don't know the cause of the breakage of the relationship with your baby daddy.
Furthermore, some women need a man who will take care of their children and not the marriage, but no one is willing to waste money on someone else's kids when he has to work on his own. This same thing happens when a woman wants to marry and meets a man who has kids. If you are in our shoe, you might do worse. The thing goes two ways.
An Akyem man in my area married his native akyem woman who had a kid before they started and got married. I believe strongly that the behaviour the woman is showing now is the same character showed the previous man.
This man is 65 years but he has to walk very long distance to sell something and get some coins before they eat at home. Their children are now 20 and 23 years but refuse to work. The small he brings home, these children and their mother will not appreciate it. The man has to come home, pound fufu and prepare soup after all the long distance walk. Worst of the situation is that these children disrespect their own father as if he is a house boy. Sister, if you ever witness what I am talking about like a simple scenario, you will understand challenges with married a woman with kids.
