NDC should emerge stronger after congress

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) should emerge stronger than before after its congress to elect its executives to retain power in 2016 , says Jonathan Nii Tackie-Komme, former Member of Parliament (MP) for Odododiodoo.

Mr Tackie-Komme, who is vying for the position of Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the party made the plea during an interview with Ghana News Agency in Accra.

He noted that the election was an internal matter within the NDC family to select the most competent team to ensure that the party remained the most popular in the country.

He advised the delegates and members of the NDC to refrain from acts that would alienate supporters since all would be needed to work together in unity to make victory in the election a foregone conclusion.

The former two-term MP for Odododiodoo, explained that he had offered himself to lead the party in the region to bring all factions within the party together since all would be needed to ensure that the NDC remained the party of choice.

Mr Tackie-Komme observed that the cosmopolitan nature of the Region makes it strategic in the politics of the country, which calls for the election of a Regional Chairman, who is hardworking and dedicated person who has proved his commitment to the party.

He stated that he had been tried and tested as a Branch Chairman, Constituency Youth Organiser and Organiser before winning the by-election of 2005 and the 2008 general election to become an MP.

Mr Tackie-Komme was also the Assembly Member for the Kinka Electoral Area of the AMA.

The former MP who recently graduated with a Masters’ Degree in Leadership and Governance from GIMPA said NDC members should avoid the politics of insults and acrimony to move the party forward.
