Ghana facing imminent peril because of Akufo-Addo - Twum Boafo

The Executive Secretary of the Ghana Free Zones Board, Kwadwo Twum Boafo has called on government to be up and doing in dealing with the threat being posed by Nana Akufo-Addo’s quest to be President of Ghana.

To him, the whole nation is facing imminent peril because the flagbearer of the 2008 and 2012 presidential elections on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has an insatiable desire to be president.

“…This country is sitting on a dangerous precipice because of one man who believes this country belongs to his fathers. We have progressed as a country and the last thing we need is a person who thinks, come what may, we must hand him the reins of government,” he said.

Addressing allegations by another leading member of the biggest opposition party, Dr. Kobina Arthur Kennedy, that the storming of the Headquarters by some irate supporters of the party was instigated by Nana Akufo-Addo, Kwadwo Twum Boafo was of the view that given the fact that most of the actors in that melee were his supporters, “this could not be anything either than a fight for the soul and heart of the NPP and it started right after Afoko and Kwabena Agyepong won the elections in Tamale.”

He further described the fight at the NPP Headquarters last Tuesday as a “coup d’état."

He wished Nana Addo was re-elected as the flagbearer of the NPP in order for President John Dramani Mahama to soundly defeat him again and end his (Nana Addo's) presidential ambition once and for all.
