The Member of Parliament (MP) for Tamale Central and Minister of Roads and Highways, Alhaji Inusah Fuseini, has stated emphatically that there is no bad blood between him and the Minister of Employment and Labour Relations, Haruna Iddrisu.

The two legislators are reported to be in a cold war for some time now over political supremacy in the Northern Region, which resulted in their supporters trading unprintable insults for reasons yet to be uncovered.

But Alhaji Innusah Fusheini on a Tamale-based Zaa Radio, said the perceived long-standing bitterness between him and the Tamale South MP was created and fueled by rumor mongers.

“All what is going on is borne out of people’s perceptions. People engage in the business of rumor mongering and have actually intensified it and in a way, succeeded in creating a situation that seems to make others believe it has some merit,” he said.

According to him, some faceless persons within the region are trying to fuel the divisions between them for their parochial interest, noting that it is not good for the development of the north.

“Mr. Iddrisu and I have on some occasions, sat down and discussed those rumors in the presence of some renowned persons in the northern region,” he revealed.

The Minister stressed that nobody will benefit from the seeming worthless fracas emphasizing that there will always be losers in the long run.

Meanwhile, both Ministers have retained their Parliamentary slots in the just ended National Democratic Congress (NDC) primaries.
