Old student donates athletic spikes to Alma mater.

Sekondi, Jan. 13 GNA - Mr. Felix Andam, a former student of the Saint John's Secondary School now resident in the United States of America (USA) on Tuesday presented 23 athletic spikes to his Alma mater.

The spikes valued at 23 million cedis was meant to increase students interests in sporting activities in the school and also to assist them to use the latest sporting equipment in their training.

Mr. Andam pledged to support three other students who were currently in the national athletic squad with a spike each to enable them win more laurels for the country.

He said his Alma mater awakened his interests in athletics during his school days but the lack of basic training equipment did not discourage him and appealed to students who do not have the state of the art sports equipments, to manage with what is available.
Receiving it, Reverend Brother Joseph K. B. Annan, headmaster of the school expressed his appreciation to Mr. Andam for his donation and appealed to him to support the school in other areas that was within his means.
He assured him that the spikes would be put to good use.
