Anim's Coach lashes police over slow investigations

Coach Seidu Salifu has lashed at the Police for the slow investigation of the murder of Ghanaian cyclist Samuel Anim.

Anim died in August after being knocked down by a motorbike while training to represent the nation at the 2015 All Africa Games.

The Police have however failed to identify the rider of the motorbike who fled the scene after crashing into Anim.

Coach of the deceased national cyclist is unhappy with the slow pace of investigations almost three months after the tragic incident.

“I went to the police station to follow up on the investigations and the police was rather asking me whether I have found the person [motor rider],” Coach Salifu fumed.

“There has been no investigations at all and this is sad. Our best national cyclist dies and everyone forgets about it.

“If it were to be Asamoah Gyan or Sulley Muntari, would this be the kind of investigations that will be conducted?”

Anim’s death robbed Ghana off a prospective gold medal at the All Africa Games which was staged in Congo Brazzaville.
