Millennium Marathon to rock Kumasi, July 1

… main event now on September 6, 2015

After previous successful regional marathons in the northern parts of Ghana, the next event in the Ashanti Regional capital seems to be keen and interesting as the Garden City is known to produce some of Ghana’s finest runners.
On Wednesday, July 1, 2015 all roads lead to Kumasi for the regional marathon which is expected to attract lots of participants apart from the national one scheduled for Saturday September 5, 2015 in Accra.

According to organisers, everything is in place for a grant event and they have a lot from mistakes done in the other regions, so they expect a massive crowd of participants and spectators.
Nana Owusu Ansah who has been touring the regions and sensitizing as well as organizing the runners said much has been done for Ghanaians to know about the Millennium Marathon, and the interest shown by the crowds testify that people have heard of the event and are ready to participate.
He urged the regions who have not yet felt the Millennium Marathon to exercise patience as they prepare to come around in the next few weeks.
At Wa in the Upper West Region, the marathon attracted a large crowd and at the end of the race Bright Gyamfi came first, followed by Adams Iddrisu, Dery Samuel, whilst Rita Bonnie lead and took the women’s first prize. She was followed by Mary Hilda Batirand Nnvanae Anchike.
Meanwhile, followers of the Millennium Marathon must take note that the new date for the event in Accra is September 5, 2015
