Ghana can win medals -Nkansah

Birmingham,UK -- Ghanaian international sprinter Eric Nkansah has said, Ghana can win medals in Abuja and Paris if we prepare very well.

Speaking in Birmingham after he was eliminated from the mens 60m semi-finals, Nkansah said, the only thing that could prevent this is poor preparation.

"What you need to do is to invite athletes on time to prepare," Nkansah told newsmen.

If we prepare and motivate athletes, I can guarantee that there would be medals for Ghana this year.

Nkansah who recently returned from injury was not happy about the way he was treated by the Ghanaian federation. According to him, he was neglected by the association when he got injured about two years ago and have not been paid his bills that he submitted to the federation.

Nkansah who made 6.61sec in the 60m heat, suprisingly came 3rd in the semi-finals with a time of 6.63sec.

Meanwhile, the head coach Mr S.S Atuahene arrived in Birmingham on Saturday evening after flight problems. He also assured Ghanaians that, his team is going to do well in the All African Games in Abuja.

He said athletes should be given allowances in time to prepare adequately for tournaments.

Leonard Miles- Mills refused to talk to press men after his dissapointing performance.
