GAA Major Sponsor: I have faith in GAA under Dodoo

A representative of a major sponsor of the Ghana Athletics Association for almost a decade has endorsed, Madame Deborah Eleazar has endorsed Prof. Francis Dodoo’s administration ahead of the GAA’s elective congress on Saturday saying, “I have utmost faith in GAA under Prof Dodoo’s leadership.”
Madame Eleazar, who represents Maria Tsakos Foundation and other private sponsors, has greatly aided the GAA developmental efforts by contributing approximately $200,000.00 to the Association’s youth development programme, competitions and programmes.

Specifically, Maria Tsakos has sponsored the famed National Junior Championships since 2005, which helped in grooming the likes of Janet Amponsah, Elizabeth Dadzie, Daniel Gyasi, Atsu Nyamadi among others.
Commenting on Prof. Francis Dodoo’s administration ahead of the GAA’s elective congress, Deborah Eleazar expressed her happiness at the outcome of her companies’ investments in the GAA over the years.

“Representing two of the sponsors, I have utmost faith in GAA under Prof Dodoo’s leadership and I have seen total transparency and a quantum leap in results but more importantly seen that athletes are not only coached and helped but they are also put on the road to a future after their careers are ended,” she said.

“Having seen some of the Ghana athletes in Barcelona (1992 Olympic Games) and Athens (2004 Olympic Games) and seen how demoralised they were at lack of support from their Association, this has been very encouraging the developments of the last few years. Long may it continue,” she summarised.
The GAA has raised over ¢1,000,000.00 of independently verified input (direct and in-direct) into athletics development for competitions, development fund, and programs. As well, the GAA was able to source scholarships for national junior athletes to the tune of $800,000.00
