Nkansah Through, Mills Out

Birmingham, UK -- Eric Nkansah this morning made it to the second round of the ongoing indoor games in Birmingham when he clocked 6.61sec which also happens to be his special best in the mens 60m heat.

Gardener Jason of Great Britain came up first in a time of 6.61 sec. Leonard Myles-Mills(pictured), who clocked 6.49 this year in a competition, surprisingly could not qualify to the semi finals as he came 7th with a time of 6.83sec.

Philomena Mensah of Canada also made it to the semi finals when she clocked 7.35sec.

Brits coast through in 60m

Jason Gardener and Mark Lewis-Francis comfortably progressed to the next round of the 60m at the World Indoor Championships.
Gardener won his duel with Ghana's Eric Nkansah in 6.61sec, while Lewis-Francis crossed the finishing post in 6.60 - a hundredth of a second behind Kim Collins.
Terrence Trammell, attempting a unique 60m and 60m hurdles double, was eliminated from his heat over the flat distance and probably has a hamstring injury.
