Four disabled athletes to participate in Paralympic qualifiers in Tunis

Four disabled athletes are scheduled to participate in the 6th International Para Athletics Competition, in Tunis, Tunisia as part of the qualifiers for the 2012 London Paralympics Games.

The athletes who are currently in camp in Accra, will be led by two gold medalists at the 2011 All Africa Games, Ajara Mohammed, as well as silver medalist Patrick Obeng and Anita Fordjour, a bronze medalist at the Games.

Also joining the team is Botsyo Nkegbe, a medal prospect at the last continental game.

According to Ignatius Elletey, General Secretary of the Association for Sports for the Disabled (ASBOD) in an interview with GNA Sports, the team will depart Accra on Wednesday, March 22 for Tunis together with the head coach George Ferguson.

The team is expected to return to Ghana on March 29.

Elletey was confident the team will make the qualification to the Paralympic Games in London.**
