KWESI APPIAH'S FLAW WAS TO DELIBERATELY DROP ESSIEN AND BOATENG IN OUR FIRST WORLD CUP MATCH AS A REVENGE FOR THEM NOT FEATURING WHEN THE WORLD CUP QUALIFIERS BEGUN. TACTICALLY HE WAS ALSO NAIVE TO WASTE KWADWO ASAMOAH AT LEFT FULL BACK(3) WHEN HE PLAYED ONLY 2 CENTRAL DEFENDERS. HE DIDNT REALISE JUVENTUS PLAY 3 CENTRE BACKS AND USED KWADWO ASAMOAH AS A LEFT WING BACK NOT FULL BACK.

Considering the fact that his campaign was interrupted by our corrupt GFA/government refusal to pay our players their $, A.A did more than most in his position would have been able to do. Imagine players refusing to train for vital matches. Any coach would have failed. He did well by almost getting us out that group. Had Jordan made that crucial pass, we all be praising A.A. as for KASA at left back, akaminko was injured, KASA was our best player at left back so it made sense to use him. Also KPB did not deserve a starting lineup after missing most of our qualifiers on purpose. Anyways, congrats to A.A and I wish he takes over Sudan national team and take them to the WC. As for my dear black stars, I pray we make it to the wc. However, under the current coach and management, I highly doubt it

At the CAF 2012 Awards, Harouna Doula was named Africa's Coach of the Year 2011 for qualifying Niger for the 2012 Afcon because of the odds, as they had to play Egypt too in the qualifying process.
Simultaneously, Botswana was named Africa's Team of the Year 2011 for qualifying for Afcon 2012, not just for the first time, but for the odds they overcame to reach the tournament.
So a team or its leader may always be the best, but the person who is usually NAMED the best is the one who has made the MOST DRAMATIC, IMPACTFUL, RESULT-PRODUCING CHANGE for his team.
So if Appiah was sinking after his Confed Cup elimination and continued to sink thereafter in the league, and then made a dramatic improvement to place 5th, then the Sudanese have the justification to name him the best, not because he was first, but because he made the most dramatic turn-around.
