Abedi was so much loved by Ghanaians for his dedication to Ghana soccer but this captaincy issue drew bad blood between him, Akwasi Appiah and Tony Yeboah. That made Abedi lose a lot of credibility. But for that Abedi would have even been the president of GFA now.

I simply can't understand why most Ghanaians like to call for problems where there is none. This situation shouldn't be an issue, let alone to become a problem at all. After all, what is the point of having a deputy captain? The reason is to take charge of the captaincy when the main captain is not around. Can someone tell me that when a president of a nation is sick and unable to appear at a gathering or meeting to address issues or give a speech, his vice president could become the president? No way, the vice president takes his place as an acting president until the president comes back. This is why we almost always do have a person in second command when the chief commander is not present.
Ghana have enough and big problems to worry about so lets concentrate on that and quit trying to call for a problem in our soccer team where there's none. Like coach Sarpong reiterated, this same situation caused a huge downfall for our team in the past 90's between Abedi Pele and Tony Yeboah so revisiting such nightmare to our soccer team will create lots of problems. Gyan is the captain and Dede is the deputy, period!

When an indivudual dons his or her country's national colours be it on and or off the world stage such individual is not only competing for the coveted prize but also attempting to portray to the rest of the world the kind of substance; cultural values,maturity and decency inherent in his or her country.
Mother Ghana's SuperBlackstar players of yesteryears never spotted annoying alphabets,numbers,shades of coloring and or hylographics when they went on to capture four Continental Trophies.
Aside of their dexterity coupled with burning desires they were humble and classy
